Common Questions
Do I need to enable data roaming before I leave Canada?
Yes. Enable data roaming in your device settings before you leave Canada. Without it, the device may not connect to a partner network on arrival. If you do not have a roaming arrangement in place, keep it off to prevent background apps from triggering unexpected charges.
How do Canadian carrier travel passes work?
Canadian carriers offer different roaming models. Some include roaming in select plans, while others offer travel passes at a daily rate or in fixed-term options often covering 7, 14, or 30 days. Passes typically activate on first use in a supported destination, though some arrangements require enrollment before departure.
What is Pay Per Use roaming and how can it be avoided?
Pay Per Use billing applies when mobile data or calls are used abroad without an active roaming arrangement in place. Confirm your coverage before you leave. A plan inclusion or travel pass will typically prevent unexpected charges.
How accurate and current is this data?
Coverage and prices come from each carrier's own published roaming pages. Coverage and pricing can change without notice, so confirm with your carrier before you travel.
